Directions and Parking

To UMBC

UMBC’s address is 1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore, MD 21250 – The road that encircles the main part of campus is Hilltop Circle.

We are located about 10 minutes from downtown Baltimore and about 25 minutes from I-495. And we’re easy to visit — the campus is just off I-95 and close to I-695.

From Baltimore and points north, proceed south on I-95 to exit 47B. Take Route 166 toward Catonsville and then follow signs to the campus and visual and performing arts venues.

From I-695, take Exit 12C (Wilkens Avenue) and continue one-half mile to the entrance of UMBC at the intersection of Wilkens Avenue and Hilltop Road. Follow signs to visual and performing arts venues.

From Washington and points south, proceed north on I-95 to Exit 47B. Take Route 166 toward Catonsville and then follow signs to the campus and visual and performing arts venues.

For the Albin O. Kuhn Library Gallery, daytime metered visitor parking is available on the top level of the Walker Avenue Garage. To get to the Walker Avenue Garage, circle around Hilltop Circle (either direction) until you reach Walker Avenue. Take Walker Avenue toward the center of campus. The garage will be on your right, with visitor parking on the top deck.

For evening and weekend events in the Fine Arts Building and the Performing Arts and Humanities Building (including the Earl and Darielle Linehan Concert Hall, the Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture, the Proscenium TheatreBlack Box TheatreDance CubeMusic Box, and the Dresher Center for the Humanities), we have made arrangements with campus parking services for late afternoon and evening parking in Lot 8, adjacent to the building. Proceed either way around Hilltop Circle until you reach Hilltop Road, and then take Hilltop Road toward campus. Take an immediate left into Lot 8 and park.

For daytime visitors, general metered visitor parking is also available in the Administration Drive Garage, located near the Administration Building, and the Walker Avenue Garage, adjacent to the Library. Meter fees are $.25 for each 15 minutes, quarters only, maximum time of 5 hours. Meters are not enforced on University observed holidays. (Parking Services does not guarantee that change will be available on campus, but there are change machines in the parking garages.)

Generally, campus roadways and parking lots require UMBC permits Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Permits are enforced year round.
